The International Telementor Program (ITP) 国際的遠隔指導教育プログラムは、世界中の専門職の成人と学生との電子通信によるメンタリングを推進し、academic based mentoring 学問に基づくメンタリングの分野では先導的である。1995年以降、9カ国 26,000人以上が参加し、カレッジ、大学、K-12およびホームスクールの学生、生徒に役立っている。
ITP前に比べてより"proactive learner(s) (前向き、積極的な学習者)"となり、いくつかのカテゴリーで多くの有意な改善がみられたと教師は報告している。
特に、"softer" skills (コミュニケーション能力 communication skills, 自主学習 self-directed learning, 批判的に考える能力 critical thinking skills)は改善し、その他、writing skills, teamwork, career and workplace knowledge, desire to go to college, subject grades (knowledge across subject areas), science comprehension and ability などにおいても、ITPは効果的であるとしている。
